Robert StagePassed On: June 9, 2013ROBERT ROY STAGE Age 66, of Moon Township, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 9. Rob's heroic and grace-filled battle with cancer ended peacefully in the arms of his beloved wife of 43 years, Ginger Stage. A passionate man, Rob loved and served Jesus Christ and was a brave witness for the Lord. He was a member of St. Stephens Church in Sewickley for 42 years and experienced a bolstering of faith during a mission trip to Uganda in 2008. That transformative time led him to later serve as a Lay Eucharistic Minister for five years, taking communion to shut-ins and conducting weekly worship services for residents of the Coraopolis Towers. Rob also worked with Meals on Wheels, serving the elderly in Sewickley and Leetsdale. He was particularly passionate about his family, football, and flying airplanes. For 25 years, Rob worked with US Airways as a pilot instructor and later as a dispatcher in the Systems Control Center. He was also proud to serve as the Steelers Chief Pilot, a scout, and personal pilot for the Rooney and Noll families for 25 years. Coaching youth football brought him great joy and upon retirement he loved driving student athletic teams for the Student Transport Association. Rob treasured his wife, Ginger and their family. He was survived by his son, Stephen; daughter-in-law, Rebecca; and four granddaughters, Hannah, Callie, Tacy Dale, and Cora; brothers, Gary (Nancy) and Brian (Debbie); nieces, Emily Myers and Catherine Griffin; and nephew, David Stage; sister-in-law, Kay Hoskins and two stepsisters -in-law, Martha (Jeff) Lowe and Linda (Paul) Nowaczek and their families. Visitation Wednesday 6-8 and Thursday 1-3, 6-8 at COPELAND'S MOON TOWNSHIP, 981 Brodhead Rd. Everyone please meet at St. Stephen's Church, 405 Frederick St., Sewickley, PA 15143 for Funeral Service Friday at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, 301 Grant St., Suite 900, Pittsburgh, PA 15219. |
