Larry Bruch

Laurence Gregory “Larry” Bruch, 70, of Grantsville, MD, died Tuesday, November 13th, 2018, at WVU Hospital’s Inc., Morgantown, WV. Larry was born January 3rd, 1948, in Philipsburg, NJ, and then raised in Easton, PA. He was the son of the late Harold and Roberta (Graham) Bruch. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Charles Bruch. Mr. Bruch was a social worker for the Garrett Co. Dept. of Social Services, retiring after 26 years as a Child Welfare Supervisor. Larry had his B.S. from Penn State and his M.S.W. from WVU. In college, he was a Vista volunteer. Most recently, he volunteered at the Wisp as a Mountain Host, he was a board member of the Celtic Festival, and a member of the Grantsville Lions Club serving as president on two separate occasions. He was also a former board member of Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and volunteer at Garrett Mentors. Larry was an active community member, who was loved and respected by all who met him. Larry spent 20 years coaching and refereeing soccer with his three children. He enjoyed walking his dogs, hiking, biking, and skiing. More recently, during retirement, Larry started traveling the world with his two friends, became a substitute teacher, and was a wonderful “Opa” to his grandchildren. He is survived by his partner, Nancy Luscombe; two daughters, Abigail and her husband, Eric Shenk; Rachel and her husband, Elliott Perfetti; and their three grandchildren, Avabella, Giorgio and Cecilia; and one son, Zachary and his wife, Elizabeth, in addition to his former spouse, Robin Storms. Nancy’s children, Nina Luscombe and her daughters, Ruby and Nico; Danielle Luscombe and her partner, Collen DuBose and their daughter, Lucy; Jessica Luscombe and her sons, Dylan and Greysen; Jacque Luscombe. His two dogs, Brandy and Mika. In celebration of Larry, friends and family will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Sunday, November 18th, 2018, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Garrett Trails, P.O.
