John Plummer

John Franklin Plummer, lll, 67, of Pepperell, MA, passed away on September 7, 2015, of cardiac disease. He was born and grew up in Easton, Pennsylvania. His parents were Gertrude Teel Plummer, who taught first grade for 35 years, and John Franklin Plummer, Jr., an engineer with Ingersoll Rand in Phillipsburg, NJ. John graduated from Easton Area High School in 1965 as Valedictorian, along with his twin sister, Katharine. He went to Williams College and on to Ohio State University where he earned his Masters and Doctorate degrees in Inorganic Chemistry. John then worked for many years for Ashland Oil in Columbus, Ohio. It was there that he met and married his wife, Betsy Lindsey in 1981. Their son Christopher currently lives, with his wife, Kim, and works in Cambridge, Massachusetts. For the past few years John has worked for Protavic-Mereco in Londonderry, NH, where his boss once said he "was the finest scientist I ever worked with". John is survived by his elder sister, Susan Plummer Pearl and her husband, Jack of Vienna, Virginia.and his twin sister, Katharine Plummer Booth and her husband, Robert E. Booth,Jr., MD of Gladwyne, Pennsylvania. John also leaves behind nieces, Shelby Pearl and Courtney Booth, and nephews, Robert and Thomas Booth. He was a gentle and kind man, and he will be missed by many.
