David Norwood

David A. Norwood, Sr., 66, of Washington Township, PA, formerly of Bethlehem Township, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013 in St Luke's University Hospital, Fountain Hill. Born: March 9, 1947, in Easton, he was a son of the late Hubert and Elizabeth Evans Norwood. Personal: He and his wife, the former Nancy Wagner, would have celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary on August 31, 2013. David retired as a horticulturist for Home Depot, last working in their Rt. 191, Bethlehem store. Previously, he was employed by Pfizer for over 20 years. He graduated from Easton High School Class of 1965. Upon graduation, he became a pitcher for the Boston Red Sox until 1966 when he was drafted into the Army and served during the Vietnam War. David enjoyed fly fishing, golfing and spoiling his grandchildren. Memberships: He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Berlinsville. David was also a member of the Lehigh River Stocking Association. Survivors: In addition to his wife, Nancy, he is survived by two sons, David A. Jr. and his wife, Jeanne, of Thurmont, MD and Michael S. and his wife Krista, of Easton; a step-son, Johnathan Carl and his wife Jen, of North Carolina and six grandchildren, Karina and Kylie Norwood, Jazilyn and Jayden Carl and Michael Jr. and Morgan Norwood. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Judy Laubach, who passed away in 1990, a step-son, Scott Carl and two brothers, Robert and Richard Norwood. Services: 2pm Sunday in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 2101 Northampton Street, Wilson Borough. Call Sunday 1-2pm in the funeral home.
